Due to some problems with our original location,
we were posted to kitchener road to help the elderly people (supposedly) living over there.
Our group went to the 5th floor of blk 2.
I could still remember the door number of the cute malay old lady living there.
#05-77.
I feel for her, really.
Her husband had left her for heaven 30 years ago.
One lady, to take care of 7 children.
I am not sure what happened and all, but now her children doesnt visit her and she lives alone.
She only has a grandchild coming once a month to help her with housework and all. (she cant really walk around much)
She talked to the malay girls, atikah and hanis.
Showed us all photos of her past, wedding pictures of neighbours.
We wanted to help her with housework and all but she rejected our offers.
She was also not keen on accepting the gifts we've brought.
When we were leaving, she kissed us all on our cheeks.
Such a sweet gesture.
At the moment, i figured how much she has missed her children and all.
There's nothing wrong with the one room flat really.
Its nicely decorated and all.
The only thing thats not in place would be the loneliness of it all.
A thought went through my mind.
Is this what i would live like, 50,60 years from now?

I want a happy cosy little family.

It is the simplest thing in life, to live happily together as a family.
However, to achieve, it may require more than anything else.

This lady came up to us, asking if we had knocked on her door just now.
We were all unsure and confused whether we knocked on her door.
then she asked if we were here to help and all.
Lets call her the bitch.(well, she is anyway)
Bitch: You know huh, i need help cleaning the toliets and my window planes are really dusty.
Us(discreetly): ewww... and disgusted actions.
B: I am a handicap you know, although u can see that i look normal, but my eyesight is blurry and i am allergic to dust. Thats why i cant clean the windows myself.
( i think its just a bloody excuse)
Note: She looks perfectly normal and she can jolly well move her hands and legs.
God knows whether she is telling the truth about her eyes but it still doesnt give her the right NOT to do housework.
B:Oh, and my fan is also very dusty. Do you think you girls can help mi dust it?
(1st toliet, 2nd windows, now fan. Tell mi what next will ya?)
B: The fan is the only thing i regretted, its very nice you know.
But its so hard to clean and all.
( if its hard to clean, and you dont wanna clean it, DONT BUY)
Her house stinks, by the way.
I sensed that she was fucking taking advantage of us and tried to get the girls to make some excuse and go off.
but they said we are supposed to help if they asked.
Clever atikah told the Bitch that we could only stay a maximum of 10 mins at each household so that we could help as much people as possible.
Good one.
That 10 min seemed like bloody 10 hours.
The bitch was yakking away down there and adding more jobs to our list.
Oh and did i mentioned that she has a child?
and the child could have helped out with housework if she really cant do it, couldnt she?
Believe mi, the child was of age to do housework.
I saw her PSLE score pasted on the wall.
Those poor girls really have suffered.
(they were being taken advantage of la)
Atikah asked mi to take pictures and so i did.
(pictures were required by teachers or something.)

And a m slightly ashamed to add that i didnt clean anything at all.
But then, if its for the cute malay lady, i would be glad to.
I simply dont like people taking advantage of others.
Next time perhaps, i am not that jaded after all.
